A man who was fired from a bar in the Financial District lunged at the manager with a fork before promising to return with a gun and shoot up the place, authorities said. Ousman Sidibeh, 20, of The Bronx, lost his job at Stout on John Street and barged back into the establishment on March 3 at about 6 p.m., a Criminal Court complaint states. The irate ex-employee then grabbed a fork and lunged at the 29-year-old manager, law enforcement sources said. “I’m going to get a gun and come back and kill everyone,” he shouted, according to court papers. Two witnesses managed to pry the fork out of the attacker’s hands and he fled, only to return while police were taking a report, sources added. Sidibeh bolted for the kitchen, swinging wildly at the victim right in front of police, the sources said. As cops tried to cuff the canned worker, he flailed and tried to wriggle out of their grasp, records state. Sidibeh was charged with resisting arrest and attempted assault.
Police nabbed a man who robbed a cafe after attempting to hold up another store hours earlier on the Upper West Side, cops said. Willy Paulino, 23, pulled a gun and demanded cash from a stationary store worker on Columbus Avenue near West 93rd Street on Feb. 22 at about 8:30 p.m. police said. Before the worker could hand over the loot, a customer walked in and frightened Paulino, who fled empty-handed, cops said. Paulino later entered Europan Cafe on Broadway near West 77th Street at about 2:10 a.m. and ordered food, police said. He walked behind the counter, took cash from the register and fled, according to cops. When an employee followed Paulino outside, he allegedly flashed a gun. Police arrested Paulino Monday after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip and charged him with robbery and attempted robbery.
A man was shot in the East Village, police said. The 23-year-old victim was leaving his home Monday at the Jacob Riis Houses on Avenue D near East Eighth Street at about 8:45 p.m. when a group of men approached him, cops said. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen before fleeing north on Avenue D, sources said. The victim was treated at Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
Queens
A man mugged a woman who was cleaning snow off her car in Bayside, police said. The 42-year-old woman was on 228th Street and 64th Avenue last Saturday at 6 a.m. when a man in a white SUV pulled up, cops said. He shoved her into the backseat of her own car and took her purse from the front driver’s seat, police said. The thief fled with the victim’s Coach purse, which contained $1,300, a Costco card and credit cards, according to cops. The suspect is about 20 years old, 5-foot-9 and about 165 pounds, cops said.
Police are looking for a man who made off with about $2,600 during a series of gunpoint robberies in Queens Village, including three on Sunday. After playing the lottery at a convenience store on the corner of Braddock Avenue and Gettysburg Street, the thief grabbed a drink and set it on the counter before pulling out a gun at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, cops said. He demanded cash and fled with $1,500, cops said. Minutes later, he walked into Mogul Hardware on 91st Avenue, pulled his gun and demanded cash, but this time he netted only $30, cops said. The same day, he hit a Gulf gas station on Jamaica Avenue and made off with $75. His spree began on March 2, when he robbed $1,000 from a deli on the corner of Winchester Boulevard and Braddock Avenue, cops said. The suspect is believed to be about 40 years old, about 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light blue “Adidas” hooded sweatshirt.
Staten Island
A Midland Beach woman was arrested for drunkenly crashing her car into a tree while chasing her boyfriend, cops said. Monique Esposito, 41, was seen trying to walk away from the crash on Ramona Avenue and Bloomingdale Road at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, law enforcement sources said. “I was chasing my boyfriend and I hit a tree,” Esposito told police. Her 2006 Hyundai SUV had front-end damage and the airbags were deployed, court papers stated. Esposito was found two blocks from the collision and appeared to be intoxicated, police said. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired and resisting arrest.
