A thief robbed a 64-year-old man in the elevator of a Mount Eden apartment building, and then roughed up his victim after being chased by him, authorities said. The suspect (above) followed the victim into the elevator of the building near the intersection of Grand Concourse and East Mount Eden Avenue on Sept. 3 at about 7:10 p.m., cops said. As the doors began to close, the mugger ripped a gold chain from around the victim’s neck and bolted from the elevator, police said. Determined to get his necklace back, the victim chased the thief through the lobby before the suspect turned around, threw him to the floor and began beating him, surveillance video shows. The robber then fled the building. The victim suffered a minor head injury, but declined medical attention at the scene. The suspect, who wore a red baseball cap, weighs about 170 pounds and has short, black hair and brown eyes.

Brooklyn

A 28-year-old man was shot in his Gravesend apartment after answering a knock on the door early Tuesday, cops said. The gunman shot the victim in the torso and the arm at about 1:30 a.m. in the Marlboro Houses on 86th Street near West 9th Street, police said. First responders rushed the victim to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the head at a Bedford-Stuyvesant playground early Tuesday, but escaped with only minor injuries, cops said. The victim told investigators he was hanging out with some friends in Raymond Bush Playground at the corner of Madison Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard around 2:15 a.m. when he heard shots ring out.After the barrage subsided, the victim felt pain and realized he had been shot in the top of the head, police said. He walked into Kings County Hospital about a half-hour later and was listed in stable condition.

An 18-year-old clerk was slashed during a dispute at a Bedford-Stuyvesant deli, cops said. The suspect walked into the store Monday on the corner of Fulton Street and Classon Avenue at 8:55 p.m. and started to argue with the worker, according to authorities. As the dispute escalated, the aggressor tried to force his way behind the counter and demanded property while waving around a pocket knife, police said. The attacker then slashed the clerk on the arm, leaving a minor cut, officials said. The suspect fled empty-handed, cops said.

Two armed muggers robbed a man in East New York, but were quickly apprehended, police said. Cops said the suspects came up behind the victim Monday near the corner of Pitkin and Georgia avenues around 11:05 p.m. and implied they were armed, threatening, “What you got? Don’t make me pull out my burner.” As one of the thieves rifled through the back pockets of the victim’s cargo shorts, his accomplice searched his front pockets, authorities said. The duo fled with the man’s cellphone, but were arrested a short time later with the victim’s phone and a loaded gun in their possession, police said. Kirk Craig, 21, and Jeffrey Archer, 19, were both charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

A woman is wanted for cashing six forged checks for $6,000 at a Flatbush bank in July, cops said. Authorities said the funds were withdrawn against the payroll of Beacon Eldercare, a senior home health aide agency based out of Queens on July 3 at the Chase branch on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Avenue H.

Investigators released this surveillance photo of an alleged burglar wanted for swiping a bicycle from an Astoria garage. The prowler picked the front lock of the building on Hoyt Avenue near 27th Street on Aug. 10 at around 5 a.m. and slipped inside, police said. He then made his way to the garage area and hauled out a Trek bicycle, cops said.
