Police are looking for the suspect in a fraudulent-check scheme in Ozone Park that netted nearly $10,000. The suspect, who often posed a nurse, used numerous stolen checks bearing the victim’s Citibank account information, cops said. The fraudster cashed bad checks totaling $9,418. Police learned of the crime on Jan. 26, and it was unclear for how long the victim had been ripped off. Police provided a photo of the suspect wearing brown boots, dark jeans and a brown vest over a white sweater.

Police released a surveillance image of the car that struck and critically injured a woman in Rochdale Village early last Sunday. The 22-year-old woman was crossing Guy R. Brewer Boulevard near 118th Road at about 2:15 a.m. when a silver or gray minivan traveling south on the thoroughfare rammed into her. The driver sped off, turning onto 118th Road. EMS rushed the woman to Jamaica Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Brooklyn

Three thieves robbed a Metro PCS store in East New York, cops said. Two of the trio entered the digital cellphone store at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and menaced a 20-year-old female worker behind the counter, according to investigators. Security-camera footage shows the two men walking behind the counter and taking out a large empty sack. The third man snuffed out a cigarette outside the front door before hanging back at the entrance as a lookout. The trio made off with an undisclosed sum of cash and the clerk’s cellphone, cops said. The thieves were described as about 5-foot-5 and all wearing blue jeans and black sneakers.

A man was nabbed after allegedly slashing the neck of a retail-store manager, cops said. For unclear reasons, the 40-year-old manager asked William Clifton, 21, accompanied by a woman, to leave the Family Dollar store on Atlantic Avenue near Ralph Avenue in Brownsville at 2:25 p.m Thursday. Clifton refused, sparking an altercation, police said. Clifton pulled a boxcutter and slashed the right side of the manager’s neck and fled west on Atlantic Avenue with his companion. Cops caught up with Clifton and the companion at Ralph Avenue and Dean Street. Clifton was charged with assault, criminal trespassing, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and disorderly conduct. It was not clear whether his companion was charged. The manager was listed in critical but stable condition at Kings County Hospital.

The Bronx

Three suspects robbed a Tremont deli customer of his bicycle and cellphone as he was ordering a sandwich, police said. The 25-year-old victim, was inside Gourmet Deli at East Tremont Avenue and Marmion Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. on Feb. 21 when one of the punks tried to distract him by sparking a conversation, investigators said. At the same time, another suspect conspicuously arrived and wheeled the victim’s bike out the door. The victim noticed and began giving chase, but in doing so dropped his cellphone inside the deli. The first suspect grabbed the phone while the victim continued outside in an attempt to retrieve his bicycle. He was stopped in his tracks by a third suspect who pointed a gun at his head. The three suspects fled and nobody was injured during the robbery.

A 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed inside a University Heights building, cops said. The suspect followed the victim into the building at Walton Avenue and East 183rd Street at about 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 5 and ­demanded cash. He then assaulted the victim, took $50 from his wallet and fled. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. The bearded suspect was last seen wearing baggy jeans, a winter coat over a black sweater and a flat-brimmed baseball cap, said authorities.
