Danger on Broadway
Be very careful crossing Broadway in Upper Manhattan and The Bronx — that stretch of the iconic street is the city’s most dangerous road for pedestrians, according to a new report.
A total of 17 people were killed along the street between 2009 and 2011, the most of any road in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, said the alternative-transit group the Tri-State Transportation Campaign. All but one of the fatalities occurred north of 96th Street.
