State investigators have opened a sweeping probe into the security of sensitive personal information in the wake of a shocking breach at the Office of Children and Family Services, The Post has learned.

The state inspector general’s investigation follows the recent sentencing of a worker, Gary Oxendine, who admitted to stealing and distributing personal data he stole from a state warehouse.
