Protesters outraged over the police shooting of Daunte Wright shut down a portion of the Manhattan Bridge Monday night as they marched onto the East River overpass.

William MillerFootage posted to Twitter shows dozens of demonstrators walking across the upper level of the bridge in a show of solidarity with Wright, a 20-year-old black man who was fatally shot by a Minnesota police officer during a Sunday traffic stop.
The NYPD sent out a tweet at about 7:20 p.m. urging people to avoid the bridge’s Manhattan bound upper-level.

One protester, a 22-year-old woman, was issued three summonses for obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon for carrying pepper spray. She was arrested on Seventh Avenue in Manhattan, though police had no other details.
Police officials said the female officer with the Brooklyn Center Police Department shot Wright after mistaking her gun for a Taser.
Bodycam footage of the fatal shooting was released Monday, showing the officer screaming, “Taser! Taser!”
The unidentified officer has been placed on administrative leave.
