Billionaire industrialist David Koch has donated $150 million to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center — the largest gift in its history — to be used for an outpatient medical facility, the hospital announced Tuesday.
The David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care between East 73rd and 74th streets overlooking the FDR Drive “will provide the most advanced cancer treatments in a dynamic space designed with the needs of patients firmly in mind,” the hospital said in a statement.
Longtime MSK board member Koch, 75, and his charitable foundation have pledged or contributed more than $1.2 billion to cancer research, medical centers, educational institutions and other causes.
“I am honored to support this important work,” Koch said in a statement.
