A longtime aide to Mayor de Blasio has scored a 60 percent raise to $180,000, records show.
Newly-minted “Senior Communications Advisor” Wiley Norvell, who has worked for de Blasio since he was the city’s public advocate, was earning $112,500 before the hike.
His previous title was “Communications Advisor.”
In an administration beset by turnover, Norvell remains a constant as one of the mayor’s longest-serving and most loyal aides.
“Wiley earned a big promotion to a senior role that involves significant staff management and direct reports to the mayor on several issues,” said de Blasio spokesman Eric Phillips. “He’s someone who could have a much easier, more financially lucrative life outside of public service and the Mayor’s thankful to have him.”
When Norvell joined the administration as a press officer in 2014 with a salary of $90,000.
Norvell’s raise was among $1.6 million in hikes that de Blasio dolled out to staffers this year.
Last year, the mayor gave out $2.8 million.
