Even progressive Mayor de Blasio thinks cop-killer Herman Bell shouldn’t have been granted parole.

“I’m very troubled by it. This was a premeditated killing of a police officer. That should be life in prison, period. Just nothing else to discuss. I don’t understand how there possibly was parole in that situation,” Hizzoner said at a press conference Thursday.

Asked whether he would personally try to step in to stop something like this happening again, de Blasio said “absolutely.”

“I don’t know personally what impact such a phone call would, if it would make a difference but I would be very ready to do that because I don’t think he should get parole. It’s as simple as that,” he said.
