There’s no love lost between Mayor de Blasio and Mike Bloomberg. So the mayor wasn’t eager to spend time at the convention discussing his predecessor’s prime-time speaking role.

“I’m just not doing that right now,” he told a Politico reporter in Philadelphia.

But earlier in New York, de Blasio said it was “fantastic” that Bloomberg — who ran as a Republican and is now an independent — was backing Hillary Clinton.

“He’s obviously a very important voice in this country because he is an independent. And it’s good for him to speak to his fellow independents,” de Blasio said.
