Mayor de Blasio huddled with like-minded liberal mayors from 17 US cities Monday to figure out how to implement President Obama’s executive order on immigration and push for further reform in Congress.
“Mayors are in the trenches and see firsthand the need for comprehensive immigration reform,” Hizzoner said later. “We will take this opportunity to lay the groundwork for a deeper national movement from the grass roots up.”
The closed-door Gracie Mansion love-fest included mayors from Seattle and San Francisco, top Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett and Homeland Security head Jeh Johnson.
