In a robo-call sent wide this week, Mayor de Blasio offered landlords cash rewards for providing homeless families with places to stay.

“As a landlord, you have an opportunity to fill vacancies in your building and receive a $1,000 bonus from New York City,” de Blasio says in the recording.

“If you have a vacant apartment and would like more information on how to participate in our program, please press 1 now.”

The one-time incentive is part of the new Living in Communities program, in which the city pays the rent for homeless families. The program has gotten off to a sluggish start since it launched in January.
