Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday that daycare centers across the city should close down, too as city officials ratchet up their efforts to slow down the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

“Yes, very, very sadly, daycare centers should be closed and we’re working with them now on that,” de Blasio said at a City Hall press conference.

There were no details that were immediately available.

Hizzoner’s remarks came a day after he decided to shutter city schools, after coming under intense criticism from teachers and parents for keeping them open as the outbreak escalated.
