Mayor Bill de Blasio will join the first night of Democratic presidential primary debates in Miami on June 26 — along with front-runner Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren — but not other leading candidates Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders or former Vice President Joe Biden, who are slotted for June 27.

In addition to Warren, de Blasio will spar with New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney, Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke and Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan.

NBC randomly selected 10 candidates to go on each night. Candidates polling above 2% were evenly split between the two events to assure there is no “undercard debate.”
