A dead body was found floating in the Hudson River this afternoon, authorities said.

The corpse — which a witness said appeared to be a man — was discovered at around 1:30 pm in the water near W. 14th Street.

It was not immediately clear how long the body had been in the water, or the cause of death.

“The man was gray,” said the witness, who was walking along the bike path when he came across the grisly scene.

“Divers were tying a yellow buoy around his waist to pull [him] out. He looked heavy set, but he could have been bloated from being in the water so long.”

The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
