The dead body of a woman was found aboard a docked boat in Montauk early Tuesday — sparking a police probe and rattling the popular beachfront resort town.
Suffolk County police were called to the upscale Montauk Yacht Club around 4 a.m. on reports of a woman’s body found on the boat off Star Island Road, and dispatched detectives to the grisly scene.
Cops have not identified the body, a department spokesman told The Post.

A rep for the yacht club declined to discuss the incident.
“We are saddened to learn of the tragic incident that took place,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “Our team is cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation and remains committed to the safety and well-being of our guests and staff.
“We have no further comment at this time,” they said.
Violent crime is rare in Montauk, a popular beach resort on the tip of Long Island known for waterfront mansions and a thriving summer tourist industry.
The yacht club’s clientele has included some of the nation’s most gilded figures, including JP Morgan, Vincent Astor, Harold Vanderbilt and Charles Lindbergh, according to its website. It was sold to Safe Harbor Marinas in 2022 and remains a popular resort and restaurant on Long Island’s East End.

“This is the last place in all of Montauk you would expect an incident,” one local told The Post. “The yacht club is the most family-friendly place you could think of.”
Police have not confirmed if there is any indication of foul play but violent crime is rare in the summer vacation destination.
