A dead whale washed up on the shores of Queens Tuesday morning.

The roughly 30 foot creature was discovered lying on the sand inside Rockaway Park near Beach 116th Street around 9:30 a.m., police said.

Police and members of the Parks Department are on scene keeping onlookers away from the dead whale.

It’s not clear how the animal died.
