A driver was killed early Wednesday when his car slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens, cops said.
Tarik Williamson, of Waterbury, Conn., was driving his 2012 Acura at a high rate of speed south on the highway near 73rd Avenue in Kew Gardens when he hit the 2005 Kenworth rig at about 5 a.m., according to police.
EMS workers pronounced Williamson, 45, dead at the scene.
The 53-year-old driver of the truck, who remained on the scene, was unhurt. No charges were filed. The Van Wyck was closed until about 8:30 a.m.
