Disgraced former Senate majority leader Dean Skelos and his son Adam will have a busy summer — back in court.
Manhattan federal Judge Kimba Wood set June 18 for their public corruption retrial. Both had been convicted on charges the elder Skelos used his position to get no-show jobs for his son, but those raps were tossed in Sept. — thanks to a ruling by the US Supreme Court that narrowed the definition of official bribery.
Skelos successfully challenged his conviction on that ruling, involving former Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell, which the NY federal appeals court said resulted in flawed instructions to the jury.
His predecessor, longtime Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver had his separate corruption conviction tossed on similar grounds. He is facing retrial on April 16.
Skelos stands accused of strong-arming businesses he had sway over to give his son Adam do-nothing jobs.
