A 57-year-old woman who killed herself by jumping off a 20-story West Harlem housing project landed just feet away from a NYPD mobile observation tower.

The distraught woman leapt from the Manhattanville Houses before she landed on the sidewalk adjacent to Amsterdam Avenue near West 131st Street at about 8:40 p.m., authorities said.

Project residents said the woman jumped from the roof and that her sister lives in the building, but that she does not.

The woman crashed through a tree before hitting the sidewalk. Broken branches and a pair of eyeglasses lay next to her body.
