The death of a 74-year-old man who was fatally assaulted inside his Brooklyn apartment over the summer has been ruled a homicide, police said Thursday.

Joseph Breina was found unconscious and with head trauma inside his Surf Avenue home in Coney Island just before 10 p.m. Aug. 15. He died the next day at a nearby hospital.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
