The death of a woman in a Long Island City apartment fire late last year has been ruled a homicide, cops said Friday.
The blaze had broken out around 6:20 p.m. Dec. 9 inside a second-floor apartment on 12th Street near 41st Avenue in NYCHA’s QueensBridge North Houses in Queens, authorities said.
The fire marshal have since determined that the blaze was intentionally set, authorities said.
Lavina Nolley, 49, was discovered inside the apartment with burns and trauma to her body, police said.
She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital-Queens, where she was pronounced dead.
Nolley died of smoke inhalation and multiple lacerations to her body, cops said. It was not immediately clear how she sustained the lacerations.
