Lawyers for the gangbangers accused of slaughtering an innocent teen outside a Bronx bodega last summer insisted in their closing arguments that the 15-year-old aspiring cop was a gang member.
“Junior was in a gang,” defense attorney Kyle Watters told jurors at Bronx Supreme Court on Tuesday. “It wasn’t a case of mistaken identity. It was a case of misfortune.”
The murder trial for Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz is coming to an end after four weeks of proceedings punctuated by dramatic outbursts from the victim’s mother and graphic video evidence of Feliz-Guzman being hacked to death by an armed gang on June 20, 2018.
The trial resumes Thursday.
