A Delta Airlines worker was killed at JFK Airport on Wednesday afternoon when an airplane tug hit him, a report said.

The worker was struck by the tug near Terminal 4 at about 3:30 p.m. and was later pronounced dead, according to ABC New York.

Other workers then used a forklift to try to pry the tug off of him, according to the report.

Delta is investigating the incident, a spokesperson said.

“The Delta team is grieving today following the loss of one of our own,” the company said in a statement.

“We are extremely saddened by the passing of a JFK below-wing employee and have extended our full support to his family and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time,” they added.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.
