Authorities met and investigated a Delta Air Lines jetliner from London that landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport Thursday morning after a threat, likely a hoax, was called in against President Barack Obama.

Sources told myFOXny.com that the threat may have been made by a group that has made similar fake threats before.

The group apparently used the name of a passenger aboard the plane who had no connection to the threat or any type of criminal activity and had no idea his name was being used to call in a phony threat, sources said.

The US Secret Service would not confirm the incident and referred myFOXny.com to authorities at JFK Airport.
