Democrat Antonio Delgado won a tight congressional race on Tuesday against incumbent upstate Republican John Faso.
Delgado, a Harvard Law School graduate and Rhodes Scholar, bested Faso in the mostly white New York region of Hudson Valley and the Catskills.
Delgado, who once used his music career to influence others about social justice, attacked Faso’s support for repealing Obamacare.
The Democrat’s rap career was dismissed by critics for being too urban.
