A Long Island cop’s $27.5 million lawsuit claims he was denied promotion because he was a Democrat and refused to support local Republicans, court papers say.

Sgt. Stefan Chernaski is a 16-year Long Beach police veteran.

City Manager Charles Theofan dismissed the suit as “a frivolous, delusional action.”
