A desperate medical worker appeared to beseech God for help during a break from his duties at a city hospital that’s among the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

The unidentified staffer was clad head-to-toe in personal protective equipment when he walked out of Elmhurst Hospital in Queens with his head bowed.

After pausing to stand with his hand on a painted brick wall, the man turned around, stretched out his arms and lifted his palms and his face toward the sky on Saturday.

The city Health and Hospitals Corp., which runs Elmhurst, has called it “the center of this crisis” and EMTs have told The Post that conditions inside were akin to a “war zone,” with an overwhelming crush of patients and a dire shortage of supplies.

On Friday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Elmhurst would be among the hospitals to benefit from a shipment of 200,000 N95 face masks provided by the federal government.
