Top state law-enforcement officials plan to meet with some of the nation’s biggest smartphone makers to help thwart thefts.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman yesterday announced the June 13 summit in the Big Apple with representatives from Apple, Google, Samsung and Microsoft to urge them to create technology to permanently and quickly disable stolen cellphones, making them worthless to thieves.
