Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. needs to raise his profile in The Bronx.
Rushing to a press conference with Mayor Bloomberg about a new one-stop center to help domestic violence victims, Diaz had to pass through the metal detector at the site.
Like everyone else, he also was asked to produce an ID.
“I’m the Bronx Borough President,” Diaz explained.
The security guard — who obviously had no idea who he was — nevertheless allowed Diaz through.
The help center is located a couple of blocks from the BP’s office on the Grand Concourse.
