Dirty cops to pay 430G
A Brooklyn federal judge has ordered two ex-NYPD cops to pay more than $430,000 to two brothers who lost their business after being framed in a drug bust, according to court papers made public yesterday.
Former Detective Stephen Anderson and Officer Henry Tavarez pleaded guilty to claiming in 2009 that they found cocaine on patrons in an Elmhurst nightclub to make their unit look good.
José and Maximo Colon, who were at the club when they were busted, lost their store after the city yanked their licenses to sell lottery tickets and cigarettes.
