A former Yonkers councilwoman and the one-time leader of that city’s Republican Party have been found guilty of corruption charges.

A Manhattan federal jury has convicted Sandy Annabi and Zehy Jereis of collaborating on bribes to win Annabi’s vote for two development projects.

Prosecutors said party boss Jereis made $174,000 in secret payments to Annabi and got a no-show job from a developer in exchange for Annabi’s votes.

Jereis claimed that any payments were gifts, not bribes. He said he had showered Annabi with money and other tokens in an unsuccessful attempt at a romantic relationship.

Annabi, a Democrat, said she changed her votes because the developers made concessions that helped the city, not because of any bribes.
