Disabled-ride plan
Starting in about a year, disabled New Yorkers will be able to call 311 and get yellow cabs or livery cars dispatched to pick them up wherever they are.
The city now has 240 wheelchair-accessible taxis but no coordinated way for wheelchair users to access them, Taxi & Limousine Commission chief David Yassky said in yesterday’s announcement.
