Costumed rebels cannot defeat the Hollywood empire — at least not according to a new lawsuit.
Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm filed suit in Manhattan federal court Wednesday seeking to stop a Manhattan entertainment company from providing for-hire, authentic-looking costumed characters — dressed as “Star Wars,” superhero and Disney classics characters — for parties and events.
The company, Characters for Hire, offers actors who dress up like “over 2,500 characters.”
“We’re not shutting anything down and we’re not infringing on any copyright,” said co-owner Avi Lieberman.
