DMX hip-hopping mad
Hip-hop has-been DMX filed a million-dollar lawsuit from a Phoenix jail yesterday, accusing a New Jersey-based company of stiffing him on foreign royalties.
The rapper, 39, whose given name is Earl Simmons, is currently caged for failing a drug test, a violation of his probation for a 2008 dog-abuse case.
His Manhattan Supreme Court suit accuses Englewood-based Rich Kid Entertainment of pocketing 100 percent of the royalties it was administering — rather than the 10 percent to which it was entitled — while handling the copyright to foreign sales of his 1998 recordings.
