Mugshot of Dr. Steven Bernhard of BaysideA Queens doctor was arrested Wednesday for selling prescription diet pills, including to a patient who later died of a heart attack, more than two years after his license was revoked for negligence, authorities said.
Steven Bernhard, 66, sold the amphetamine tablets to a 65-year-old woman with a history of heart disease, prosecutors said.
Bernhard pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court to reckless endangerment, sale of a controlled substance and fraud charges.
