This puppy may be the cutest piece of stolen property in New York.

The miniature teacup pinscher was pilfered from a Queens pet shop by a woman who shoved the pooch into a suitcase and sneaked away, police sources said.

“We were shocked. You wouldn’t think someone would do that,” Suzanne Caracci, owner of the Pet Palace in Middle Village, said yesterday. “She looked normal.”

Suspect Jolanta El-Shorbagi, 57, allegedly walked into the store on Feb. 17, made some small talk with the clerk, and then set her sights on the little dog.

Caracci said El-Shorbagi didn’t bother to ask, “How much is that doggie in the window?” when she decided to pinch the puny pinscher, which had a price tag of more than $1,000.

“She had this luggage on wheels,” Caracci told The Post. “She dropped it, then bent to pick up the bag and put the puppy in it and left.”

Another worker noticed the dog was gone minutes later.

“We panicked . . . and called the cops,” Caracci said. Video surveillance captured the theft on tape.

The purloined pup was missing until Feb. 21, when store worker Rob Stimmel, 20, caught a lucky break while driving to a hotel to service a fish tank.

He happened to drive by El-Shorbagi’s Maspeth home and saw her in the front yard. He immediately confronted her.

The woman denied taking the dog. “She said, ‘I want to see this video. I don’t believe it. Show me putting the dog in my bag,’ ” Caracci said. “But I didn’t say anything to the woman about her putting it in a bag; that’s how she revealed herself.”

Police said El-Shorbagi was charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property. The pup was returned.

She was released on her own recognizance and was not available for comment yesterday.
