A Staten Island family is distraught after a thief stole their beloved Yorkshire terrier-poodle mix during a burglary, police said.

The thief grabbed 5-year-old Pookie — along with three rings — from the Mariners’ Harbor home of Betsy Reinel on April 7.

Reinel, 30, said her family has been in tears since Pookie was stolen.

Her brother Richard, 37, is mentally challenged, and playing with the dog has helped him a lot.

“He looks out the window asking for the dog,” said Reinel. “I think about it every night.”

The family is not looking to press charges, Reinel said.

“We just want the dog back.”
