The dog thought to have been thrown off an elevated section of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway actually jumped over the side because he was “spooked” by traffic, a new witness claims.

Sarah Hart, a 34-year-old chef from Gowanus, was in a cab at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, when she spotted the pit bull on the expressway, she told The Post.

“He looked spooked. He jumped up and cleared the concrete barrier. He probably just wanted to get off the road,” she said.

Wookie the pit bull survived the 30-foot fall.
