Archbishop Timothy Dolan yesterday traded his St. Patrick’s Cathedral pulpit for one at a Staten Island church — amid a troubling spate of hate crimes against Hispanics.

In a sermon delivered in Spanish, he told St. Mary of the Assumption’s parishioners that he was saddened by the crimes and said, “We can’t lose hope . . . Staten Island people know this has no place here.”

A bit later, Yahua Plair, 17, was charged with robbery and menacing as a hate crime in the mugging of a 15-year-old Mexican immigrant by several black men on Burgher Avenue last Wednesday.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force has investigated 11 alleged bias attacks on Staten Island since April, most of them in the Port Richmond area and involving Mexican victims.
