The dollar-van driver who tried to flee the scene of an accident, but was stopped by Good Samaritans, has been charged, cops said Sunday.
Kwadwo Fosu was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to use due caution after he slammed into a cyclist near the intersection of Avenue U and Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn Saturday at around 5 p.m., police said.
After the collision — which sent the cyclist flying and left her bike crushed beneath the wheels of the mini-bus Fosu was driving — the 42-year-old tried to hightail it from the scene, only to be sacked by witnesses and held down until the police arrived, cops and sources said.
The cyclist was in critical condition after the accident, cops said.
Fosu has been transferred to central booking, police said.
