It took only 47 seconds for a judge to toss two tickets issued to a driver for the Queens crash that killed a 3-year-old girl in October 2013, according to new audio that was released.
“No personal observation?” said Administrative Law Judge William Lee to a cop at the DMV hearing on July 1, according to a tape obtained by WNYC radio.
“No videotape?” he then says before interrupting the officer who starts to speak up.
“Not guilty,” Lee then says.
Hsi-Pei Liao, the father of tragic Allison Liao, didn’t learn the tickets were nixed by the judge until the driver, Ahmed Abu-Zayedeh, 45, was deposed in court earlier this month and he mentioned the hearing.
“We’re surprised it’s so short,” Liao said, of the hearing.
