Four people were injured in a wrong-way crash on Long Island while possibly trying to evade police, sources said.

The crash happened as the vehicle was traveling the wrong way down the south service road of the Long Island Expressway near Exit 34 in Manhasset around 3:30 p.m., according to Nassau County police.

Four people were injured and taken to Northshore University Hospital. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.

It’s possible the car may have been trying to get away from police when the crash occurred, sources said.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
