The feds yesterday busted a Long Island man for alleged ties to a ring that smuggled opium into the United States inside Persian rugs from Iran.

Mehrdad Samoukian, 52, of Roslyn Heights, was caught handing off two bricks of opium on a street in Midtown last year, according to court papers.

Samoukian was held without bail after a lawyer in Manhattan federal court described him as an opium addict.
