The drug-addled madman accused of executing four victims in a bid to score a bag full of painkillers was indicted yesterday.

“He was indicted and I’m waiting for the certification of the indictment,” defense lawyer Mary Elizabeth Abbate said about David Laffer.

Police had already charged Laffer, who allegedly slaughtered his victims in a Medford pharmacy last week, with one count of murder and resisting arrest.

A Suffolk grand jury convened yesterday has the ability to increase the number of homicide counts.

The indictment will be certified this morning in Suffolk County 1st District Court in Central Islip, Abbate added.

Laffer, 33, did not testify before the grand jury, Abbate said.

But it’s unclear whether Laffer’s chatty wife, Melinda, is cooperating.

“My client did not testify. Whether she did or not, I don’t know,” Abbate said

Melinda, 29, implicated her husband in the slayings last week, telling reporters, “He did it. He did all of this.”

The lawyer also said her client is not suicidal, despite being placed on suicide watch by Suffolk authorities.

“He was placed in protective custody as a precaution. But no, he’s not suicidal at all. He’s overwhelmed,” she said.

Laffer is being held without bail.

Melinda, who allegedly drove the getaway car, was ordered held in lieu of $750,000 cash bail or $1.5 million bond and faces charges of third-degree robbery and obstruction of justice.
