It wasn’t the tryptophan that knocked this turkey out.

An alleged drunk driver was arrested on Thanksgiving after stopping his van on a Staten Island highway to take a nap, with an open beer by his side, cops said.

A Port Authority officer spotted cars driving around the idle 2003 Ford near the Outerbridge exit on Route 440 South at about 2:10 p.m.

The officer spied an open beer in the van’s cup holder, and roused alleged snoozing boozer Farrell Markis, 39, from behind the wheel, a PAPD spokesman said.

Markis, who reeked of alcohol, bombed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, according to the spokesman.

Markis, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, has had his license suspended 27 times, including for a 2011 DWI, and had an open traffic warrant in New Jersey, the PAPD said.

He was charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operator, and driving while unregistered and uninsured.
