An allegedly drunk driver hit and killed a man on a moped in the Bronx, police said.

Stephanie Mendez, 33, was headed east on Bruckner Boulevard in a gray 2005 Volvo sedan when she struck Frank Davila, 59, at the intersection of Rosedale Avenue. Davila, who was traveling south on Rosedale Avenue, was thrown from his bike just after midnight Saturday.

When police showed up, Davila was lying unconscious in the roadway. EMS crews took him to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Mendez was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Photos of the aftermath show Davila’s red mangled bike lying under the Bruckner Expressway bridge, a few feet from the Volvo, with its driver’s side window shattered.
