A drunken off-duty MTA bus driver struck and injured an NYPD cop with her Mustang early Friday in Brooklyn — as the officer was investigating a shooting, police said.
Raquel James, 27, was driving in Brownsville when she made a left turn onto Winthrop Street from Rockaway Parkway and hit the 67th Precinct officer in the crosswalk at around 3 a.m., cops said.
“I didn’t hit anybody,” James, who failed a Breathalyzer test, told police after the collision, according to law enforcement sources.
Cops said James was stumbling, with bloodshot, watery eyes and reeked of alcohol. She blew a .18 on the Breathalyzer — more than twice the legal limit to drive.
The cop, who was probing a shooting that was detected by ShotSpotter technology, was rushed to Kings County Hospital with a fractured arm, police sources said.
James was arrested at the scene and charged with vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, reckless driving, failure to yield to a pedestrian, and DWAI-alcohol, police said.
James raked in a total pay of $63,222 last year, according to data posted by SeeThroughNY.
The MTA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
