An allegedly drunken man slashed a couple outside an East Village restaurant after he argued with workers who refused to serve him, according to a report.
The man approached the Second Avenue restaurant late Friday demanding a drink, but began arguing with eatery employees after he was apparently rebuffed.
When the young couple tried to intervene, the drunken man attacked them, a witness said.
“He was definitely too intoxicated, and he took his actions from one thing to another, and he hurt people who had nothing to do with his actual issue,” the witness told ABC 7 cameras.
The woman was cut in the arm and the man in the back, ABC reported.
They were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
