Eatery’s blizzness woe
How’s this for a snow job? Angelo & Maxie’s steakhouse filed for bankruptcy yesterday — and put the blame not on high prices, but on the rotten weather that befell the city over the winter.
“The weather really got us,” Robert Rattet, a lawyer for the high-profile Park Avenue eatery, told The Wall Street Journal.
The sluggish economy also led to smaller lunch crowds and contributed to the restaurant’s financial woes, he said.
The Post’s Steve Cuozzo yesterday reported that Angelo & Maxie’s and its sister eatery, Maxie’s Grill, were in dire straits.
